How the Bitcoin ranking is built

This page does not reuse the global overall model. The asset context reweights toward liquidity, fees and fiat rails, then blends in a BTC-fit score built from withdrawal cost, network coverage, spread and asset-specific features. That is why the order here can differ from the main ranking: a venue with great custody but expensive BTC withdrawals loses ground, and a venue with tight books and cheap networks gains it.

BTC economics by exchange

Spread estimates, cheapest withdrawal network and minimums for BTC (reference price $118,240). Withdrawal fees assume the cheapest supported network on each venue.

Best exchange for a $100 / $1,000 / $10,000 Bitcoin purchase

Effective cost = taker fee + estimated spread, plus a slippage allowance on thin books for the $10,000 ticket. Card and instant-buy surcharges are not included — deposit with a bank rail and buy on the spot book to keep these numbers real.

FAQ

What is the cheapest exchange to buy Bitcoin?

On our current dataset, Upbit has the lowest effective cost for a $1,000 Bitcoin market buy at roughly $0.68 in trading fee plus spread. Card purchases add 1.8–3.99% anywhere.

Which exchange has the cheapest BTC withdrawals?

Binance — about $0.03 via Lightning on our dataset. Fees move with network congestion; check the withdrawal screen before you commit.

Where is the Bitcoin spread tightest?

Binance shows the tightest estimated spread in this ranking at about 1.2 bps. Spread matters more than the fee line for market orders.

Which exchanges support Lightning withdrawals for Bitcoin?

In our dataset: Binance, OKX, Kraken, Bitfinex. Lightning cuts a typical BTC withdrawal from a few dollars to under five cents and settles in seconds.

Bitcoin-specific notes

This list is the ranking of venues that list BTC, reweighted for the asset context. It is not a restyle of Best Crypto Exchanges. Liquidity and fee subscores still come from the same snapshot as the rest of the site.

Recurring buy appears when the venue has that capability flag. Network congestion still sits outside the score. The cheapest taker fee can lose to a wide BTC spread on a thin book.
